The answer….you give him a mic at a press conference. I have been critcized many times for the use of the term heretic, but in the case of Brian McLaren, it certainly applies. To describe McLaren as a liberal is being unkind to liberals. In this YouTube, McLaren, along with other free-swinging “progressive Christians” such as Jim Forbes, speak at a press conference to whine about how they are not getting their fair share of attention. Boo-hoo!

Sorry, your bias has effected your ability to listen. I likely agree with parts (probably not all) of your overall analysis of Mclaren but in this video, I didn’t see any whining, I didn’t hear any heretical remarks, etc..
I find this post a sad commentary on you rather than McLaren.
Listening to McClaren in this clip comparing “us” to old rock music sparks a nerve. My church began solidly united for the cross of Christ. My pastor was just 24 years old at the time. When we started opeing larger umbrellas and allowing new influence is when the unity began to unwind. Long story short 14 years later our pastor resigned. At our tribute service to him, one of his “supportive” members refered to us as the “Heartland Mayflower.” I don’t need to explain the hurt and confusion that this whole situation has caused. I have been a Christian for 25 years and nothing has made me question my beliefs as much as one man trying to bring our church into the 21st century. God has confirmed me, but my family and church are still saddened by those we loved being so decieved.
Sorry bro, I love your show and love listening to you but Christian does not mean – Right Wing. I firmly believe that someone can be left and be saved. I question McClarens view of God in the sense that it seems more New Age than Orthodox.
I wanted to mention I heard the during the Driscoll interview a commentary by Cal Thomas. His arguement was The Muslim religion is bad and evil because 1. 25% believe that the London Bombing was a government conspirecy, and 40% believe 911 was. Talk about a poor case to make. What about the whatever% of Christians that believe it? does that make the Christian religion bad and evil?
Are there no such things that government conspirasies? Sounds a like like Bill O’Rielly in that if you are not for what government does then you are Anti-America, same can be applied to Cal Thomas. If you question the government then you must be Evil and therefore Anti-Christian.
Just a side note, I think the explanation put forth about 911, and the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 have serious holes that we as Americans need to look into.
