Stephen Hawking: God was not needed to create the Universe

Stephen Hawking says that God did not create the universe and there is no personal God. I have always wanted to ask, ‘What or who then created gravity, or the force that created the big bang, or physics, or the laws of science?” Genius’ like Hawking can’t explain this.  As my old Irish grandmother used to say, “One day they are gonna bust hell wide open!” I pray that before Hawking leaves this world, he humbles himself and seeks the God of this universe and cries for mercy.

Psalm 14

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. 2The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. 3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

London Telegraph-Scientist Stephen Hawking  has claimed that no divine force was needed to explain why the Universe was formed and that, “Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist. It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper and set the Universe going.  The question is: is the way the universe began chosen by God for reasons we can’t understand, or was it determined by a law of science? I believe the second. If you like, you can call the laws of science ‘God’, but it wouldn’t be a personal God that you could meet, and ask questions."

Thank you for posting this, Mike.

I am amazed at the faith such men as Hawking exercise to believe in a coincidental series of events that have a statically and practical impossibility, simply to avoid and deny God. There but for the Grace of God go I also.

Occam’s Razor: one should not increase, beyond what is necessary, the number of entities required to explain anything.

Scripture: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).
