John Hagee Responds to Controversy

Pastor John Hagee has responded to my request for his reaction to the controversy involving his comments about Jesus as Messiah.

Again, I (Grace Media International and WQBC) have had a working relationship with John Hagee Ministries for the last four years. We contacted our representative with the ministry earlier this week and asked if Pastor Hagee would like to repsond to the issue. Yesterday, I received the following:

Many Christians have constructed a catch 22 concerning Jesus as Messiah.  The catch 22 is this:

“Jesus came to be Messiah but because the Jews rejected Him as Messiah He had to go to the cross, hence the Jews are the Christ Killers.”

Fact: According to Webster’s Dictionary the word “Messiah” means “the expected king who delivers from oppressors.”  A Messiah is one who rules and reigns over a given people.

Fact: The God of the Bible is absolutely sovereign!  That means He is in control of everything in heaven and on earth all the time.  If God is not sovereign; He can’t be God.

Question: What was God’s Sovereign will for Jesus Christ from the foundations of the earth?

Revelation 13:8 reads that Jesus Christ was the “Lamb of God slain from the foundations of the world.”  This verse says it was God’s Sovereign plan for Jesus to die as Savior before the world was created in Genesis 1:1.

Most people confuse the role of “Messiah” and “Savior.”  To be Messiah you must live.  To rule and reign you must live.  Jesus came to die and be the Savior of every person on earth.

THERE IS NO DUAL COVENANT!  The Bible says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Jesus Himself stated in Mark 14:8, Luke 24:46 and Mark 10:33-34 that He had come to die for the sins of the world as Savior.  Again, you must live to be Messiah.  You cannot be both Messiah and Savior!

John the Baptist introduced Jesus as the “Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).  The only thing a lamb can do is to be slaughtered as a sin offering.

Fact: Jesus claimed to be Savior several times in the Bible.  He never claimed to be Messiah to the Jewish people.  In John 4 Jesus told the woman at the well, a Gentile, who He was, knowing the Jews and Samaritans had nothing to do with each other.  I go into this in great detail in my latest book, “In Defense of Israel.”

Fact: Jesus repeatedly in His ministry told His Disciples and followers to “tell no one” about His supernatural accomplishments.  If Jesus wanted to be Messiah by popular demand, He would have wanted His supernatural exploits to be told by everyone to spread His popularity.

Sixty-four times in the four Gospels Jesus instructed those who were excited about His being the Messiah to “tell no one.”  He refused the role.  He never promised to be Messiah.  The Jews did not reject Jesus as Messiah; it was Jesus who refused to be the reigning Messiah because it was God’s Sovereign will for Him to die on the cross.

Fact: Bible proof that Jesus did not come to be Messiah is found in Matthew 26:26-30 where Jesus, a Jewish Rabbi, was celebrating Passover with His 12 Disciples in what Christians call “The Lord’s Supper.”

In the Passover there are five cups of wine that Jesus and His Disciples would drink together.  These five cups have been and still are celebrated by observant Jews who keep the Passover.

The fifth cup is the Messiah’s Cup.  Luke 26:28, Jesus claims to be the Savior of the world by saying, “For this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sin.”

In the next verse, Luke 26:29, Jesus rejects the Messiah’s Cup saying, “But I say unto you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

Jesus rejected the Messiah’s Cup because He knew He was about to die.  He promised His Disciples that He would drink the Messiah’s Cup when He returns to earth the second time as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Fact: If an Almighty and Sovereign God sent His Son into the world the first time to be Messiah…God failed!  The truth is, God cannot fail…never.

Jesus was sent to the earth the first time to die as the Lamb of God.

I trust this simple explanation will clarify any concerns you might have concerning Jesus the Messiah and Jesus the Savior.  Let us prepare for the soon coming of King Jesus, our Deliverer and Lord of Lords.  It will be very soon!

Sounds like a catch 22 of dispensationalism to me, what do you think? Thanks for posting the response.

  2. theexpositor / Nov 16 2007 18 18

    Is hyper-dispensationalism a proper term?

  3. Chris / Nov 16 2007 18 59

I’m thankful for people like Hagee. His particular brand of dispensationalism started me on the road to seeing all flavors of dispensationalism as errant, and I ‘m thankful to now embrace Covenant Theology.

I wish he would do the same. He’s a talented speaker.

  4. Les Puryear / Nov 16 2007 19 08

When Hagee uses the term “Christ,” is he not aware that he is calling Jesus the Messiah? Christ means “messiah.” Christ is a title, not a last name.

Also, I would like to know if Hagee believes that Jews must receive Jesus as Savior to be saved.

    Thanks.

    Mike,
Consider two passages of Scripture: Luke 24: 25, 26 and John 4: 25, 26. Both confirm that Our Lord came as the Messiah. He did not come as anything else. To say otherwise is to deny God’s word in this and other places concerning the Messiah, the Christ, the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world. St. Paul in Acts 17: 2, 3 spoke of reasoning with the Jews “that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus whom I preach unto you, is Christ.” Read over Ephesians 1: 1-23. It will not match with what John Hagee has said. For without the name of Christ, Jesus of Nazareth would be just another Joshua in society filled with Joshuas. Only by having the name Christ does God’s prophetic promises kick in. I will be praying for God to touch Pastor Hagee’s heart that he might repent of this error.

From the very beginning Hagee makes a huge fallacy – that is using the definition of Messiah from a dictionary for the English language written 1800 years later as the foundation for his entire argument. The word comes from Moshiach, which means “Annointed.”

I think Hagee’s problem is that he does not understand Jewish history or thought prior to Jesus coming. No person with an understanding of what the Jews were expecting in a Messiah – namely a king to conquer Israel’s enemies and establish a kingdom on earth, could think that the Jewish people did not know exactly Who they were rejecting, since He point blank told them “I AM.” Anyone reading the Old Testament will be fully convinced Israel has rejected Him since the beginning, and that is exactly what they did once again when He came to them Incarnate.

But besides this, defending Israel’s rejection of Jesus is a non-issue and does not require a book. Since all of us would have rejected Jesus as our Messiah, had He not removed our blindness, why is he defending one nation from this sin? No one seeks God, not even one. He is not the Messiah the Gentiles want, either.

If you haven’t yet read it, I highly, seriously recommend the Messianic Jewish historian Alfred Edersheim. His 19th century book “The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah,” though a huge scholarly book, is priceless. You will understand more about Jesus and the Jewish people through “Jewish eyes” and thus understand a lot more about this entire topic. (John MacArthur likes Edersheim, just as a note.)

The only positive in this is that now we have heard John Hagee himself clarify further his heretical view that Jesus did not come as the Messiah for all men: “He refused the role. He never promised to be Messiah.”

There is only one Messiah and how sad it is to see John Hagee be so willing to twist the Scriptures to fit his preconceived views. For example his argument from silence here:

“Jesus rejects the Messiah’s Cup saying, ‘But I say unto you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.'”

The text doesn’t say Jesus didn’t drink from the cup at all. Notice carefully that the Master says, “I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on,” which is indicative that Jesus drank first and says He’d “drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

  10. joni / Nov 17 2007 5 39

The entire New Testament (gospels and letters) is filled with the proclamation that Jesus is the Messiah, for Christ means Messiah.

As to Mr. Hagee’s assertion that if God sent the His Son into the world the first time to the the Messiah, God failed–isn’t the exact opposite point one of the central emphases of the gospel as proclaimed by Paul, Peter, and the other apostles? When Paul teaches, “Seek the things which are above, where Messiah is seated at the right hand of God” (Col. 3:1)–that’s a Messianic proclamation right there a la Psalm 110:1. Peter’s groundbreaking proclamation of the gospel in Acts 2 lays the same foundation, quoting Ps. 110, and even going on to say: “Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ [i.e. Messiah!], this Jesus whom you crucified.” The apostles were proclaiming an inaugurated kingdom of God with Jesus as its ruling Messiah…seated at the right hand of God until God places all His enemies under His feet (a la 1 Cor. 15, particularly verse 25).

Also, Mr. Hagee’s understanding of the cups at the Passover seder is a little bit oversimplified. The fifth cup is not called the cup of Messiah, but the cup of Elijah, and its place in the seder is debated among Jews. The cup of Elijah is generally a single cup for the whole table (as opposed to the other four cups, where each person at the table has one), set aside for the welcoming of Elijah (and thus, the Messiah). Anyways, Mr. Hagee is making the (rather large) assumption that the cup of Elijah was practiced in Jesus’ day. Furthermore, each of the four cups has a name: the third cup (the one drunk after the meal) is called the cup of redemption–some infer from the “after the meal” of Luke 22:40 that the cup Jesus spoke of was the third cup of the seder, the cup of redemption.

BTW, I think the Scripture references in Luke (26:29) should say Matthew. And the order of Jesus’ statements which Mr. Hagee presents here (from the Matthean account) doesn’t line up with Luke’s account.

  11. Jeff / Nov 17 2007 14 07

Michael, as incredible as it may seem, John Hagee as very strongly and clearly written his position. For those of us who don’t hear his preaching, this does help clarify the controversy.

Most comments so far have correctly pointed to the real issue, that of taking only one small meaning of the word Messiah. In the NT, ‘Christ’ is repeatedly connected to ‘Messiah’ so that, for all intents and purposes, They are the same Person.

Why does John Hagee separate them? Or not connect them? Or make a distinction between them? Only he can tell you, and he hasn’t yet. Is he wrong? Yes.

Why? I don’t agree with the previous comment that “he doesn’t understand”. I believe John Hagee understands exactly what he believes and teaches. He also understands what he doesn’t teach. This is not an honest difference of opinion. Mr. Hagee has firmly staked out his position for a reason. He teaches what he teaches, knowing full well what he is leaving out.

That is the great mystery. Why does someone hold a view that is clearly not intended by scripture? Many do. In the future, all will be made clear, and all who call themselves teachers will have to answer to the Lord Christ Himself why they taught what they taught. On that day, honesty will be demanded.

  12. Carl / Nov 17 2007 17 46

The main point where Hagee is absolutely wrong is his claim that Jesus refused the role of Messiah. He never refused it.

  13. Brian Culver / Nov 17 2007 20 12

Too bad, it is sad to hear the teachings of Mr. Hagee. I pray that the motivation of money is not the over-riding reason for his teaching something such as this!

  14. Janice Zuliani / Nov 17 2007 22 59

John 2:22 Who is a LIAR but he that denies that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah (Christ)? He is AntiMessiah(antiChrist), that denies the Father and the Son.
    End of disscussion.

  15. Scavenger / Nov 18 2007 5 55

JOHN HAGEE has adeptly turned the gospel of God into racism and miltarism.
He preaches and believes America and the phony Zionist entity posing as “biblical Israel” are Gods favourites.

This is out and out blatant racism and it is appalling that so many devout believers fall for his racist elitist gospel.
And yes, many, many Jews are going to hell because he is simply not telling them the gospel truth and instead preaching “another gospel” to them. Galatians 1:8

I have come to believe he is one of the many false prophets Jesus warned us about, along with Van Impe, Lahaye and others who preach this endless dispensational nonsense of Americas and Zionist favouritism before God.

  16. Henry (Rick) Frueh / Nov 18 2007 13 41

This is what happens when you over emphasize an alliance with Israel and unsaved Jews. Hagee has had unsaved Jews speak from his pulpit. His love for the Jewish people is well intentioned but has altered his theology. To say Jesus never claimed to be the Messiah is almost not worth addressing since it is so outrageous.

Again, Hagee doesn’t see that Jesus claimed to be the Messiah for the entire world, He rejected the Jewish view of a nationalistic Messiah.

“Thou art the Messiah, Son of the Living God”

“Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my Father which is in heaven”.

the thing that concerns me about hagee’s response are these quotes of his
most people confuse the role of Messiah and Savior. TO BE MESSIAH YOU MUST LIVE. TO RULE AND REIGN YOU MUST LIVE. Jesus came to die and be the Savior of every person on earth.
Jesus Himself stated in Mark 14:8. Luke 24:46 and Mark 10:33-34 that He had come to die for the sins of the world as Savior. AGAIN, YOU MUST LIVE TO BE MESSIAH. You cannot be BOTH MESSIAH AND SAVIOR.

So my question would be, is Jesus risen? Is Jesus ALIVE, is Jesus both MESSIAH AND SAVIOR to all who call upon His name? Does hagee not believe that Jesus rose from the grave? What about the resurrection,? Is the Jesus that hagee preaches dead or alive?

  20. Scavenger / Nov 18 2007 22 20

Hagee has been deceived by those Jesus termed “Satan’s Synagogue”. Revelation 2:9 Revealtion 3:9.
Very sad indeed that Hagee is not only being deceived, but deceiving Jews and Christians alike.

  21. Richard McGough / Nov 19 2007 1 51

Hagee’s response confirms his his heresy. Consider:

Hagee’s “Fact”: Jesus claimed to be Savior several times in the Bible. He never claimed to be Messiah to the Jewish people.

The Bible’s Fact: John 10:24-25 Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the >>>MESSIAH<<>>PLAINLY<<>>I TOLD YOU<<>>Saviour<<>>MESSIAH<<< the Lord.

    GOSPEL TRUTH

    Children of Promise

“Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise”.
    {Galatians 4 v 28}.

When God looks at this old world, He no longer looks upon it like He did in the days before His only Son was crucified at Calvary. For Christ’s sacrifice on Calvary gave birth to the new covenant or testament, which He wrote on the hearts of men who accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour. No longer does He see tribes and races of people as such, for now because of Christ’s sacrifice He sees only the children of promise and the children of the bound. Let me explain, God states clearly in scripture that the children of God are those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, regardless of race or gender, they are the children of God, yes the children of promise. You see it is written, “And if ye be Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to promise”, {Galatians 3 v 29}.

Abraham had two sons, one by a bondwoman called Agar, and another by a freewoman called Sarah, as it is written, now these two sons represents the two covenants. The first son Ishmael of the bondwoman represented Jerusalem, which is now in bondage, which also represents the old covenant, but the freewoman’s son Isaac represents the heavenly Jerusalem, which is the new covenant. All God’s people are one in Christ Jesus, who are under the new covenant. Under this covenant there is no longer Jew, Gentile, slave or free, men or women, for we are all one in Christ. “For ye are all the children of promise by faith in Christ Jesus”,
    {Galatians 3 v 26}.
Now God’s plan for the people of Israel is the same plan which He is using for the whole world, and that is that we must all repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. There is no other plan for salvation, only through Jesus. Who was crucified for our sins and rose again for our justification, and who is alive forever more. Praise be the wonderful name of Jesus. As it is written, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”, {Acts 4 v 12}.

As Isaac was, so are we the children of promise, no matter what nation we are from, God considers us all equal and precious in His sight. So precious are we that He sacrificed His only Son for each and everyone of us. So, let us all stand together as, the children of promise. I would like to state that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and many more in Israel are likened unto an olive tree which also represents the children of promise. We who believe are grafted into that tree, and so we become one with them, and are known as the true Israel of today. Now today there are still people in Israel who are chosen by God according to election of grace who will be grafted back into the olive tree, which represents the children of promise.

    We must pray for them, that they will see Jesus, for it is written, “ There shall come out of Zion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: for this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins”, {Romans 11 v 26 & 27}
So dear saints, let us always pray and standby Israel, for I believe that there are many yet to come to know Jesus as their true Messiah. God bless Israel.

IF CHRISTIANS READ THEIR BIBLES THY WOULD NOT BE DECEIVED. EVANGELIST BILLY BOLITHO

  24. James Goetz / Nov 19 2007 21 03

I never thought Hagee would get this confused. According to John 6:15, Jesus dodged the crowds that tried to make Jesus king by force. And according to the Synoptic Gospels, when Jesus stood in trial, Jesus identified himself as the Messiah.

  25. "Lee N. Field" / Nov 21 2007 4 13

My download of the Nov. 17 program had some problems, so I basically missed basically everything of what you had to say about Rev. Hagee’s response.

The above from Hagee looks to me basically like spin. I’m guessing his remarks in the book commercial (and repeated in the book, if what I read of it is true) play well in certain dispensationalist circles, and he may not have realized how jarring they are to people outside that camp.

God is sitting on HIS THRONE
Tears are streaming down HIS face
For LACK OF KNOWLEDGE MY PEOPLE will die
how come you believers are so shy?

I gave My Beloved Son that you may live
Live a life of Peace and Happiness on Earth as in Heaven
Shout it to the World, let them see, let them hear
I am a GOD OF LOVE, I care, your prayers I hear

Make Jesus Christ / Y’SHUA HA-MASHIACH, your way of life
He longs to hold you, love you, heal you
HE is the ONE who came back AND IS NOW ALIVE

When I’m YOUR GOD, YOUR FIRST LOVE
    Then you’ll do MY WILL
    Then you’ll know TRUE LOVE
Have Peace and Happiness all the days of your lives
As I LOVE YOU always, even to the End of the Times
inspired by God, my first poem – by Monique – 9/21/96

11 years ago the LORD gave me the gift of poetry, then He sent me on my “Jewish” journey, even to an ORTHODOX SYNAGOGUE, Kenesseth Israel Congregation, St. Louis Park, MN, Rabbi Chaim Goldberger, where I stayed for almost 12 months, following the Jewish Customs of My Lord and Savior, JESUS the CHRIST – Y’SHUA HA-MASHIACH,
receiving the Mikvah (Jewish Purification Bath) on 5 different occasions, keeping Sabbath and following the 22 Fast, Feasts and Festivals on the Jewish Calendar (to the best of my knowledge). I was not allowed to “convert” unless I renounced Jesus / Y’SHUA, however, I was tolerated till the time I asked Rabbi Goldberger to accept JESUS AS MESSIAH with the words from Acts ” Saul, Saul (Rabbi Goldberger), why are you persecuting ME?”. Saul (Rabbi Goldberger) receive your sight, accept JESUS / Y’SHUA as Messiah. The Rabbi’s reaction was immediate. I was forbidden to return –
The door that was closed shall be opened, the door that was open shall be closed.

The Holy Spirit has brought me back to the Catholic Church and we pray for Peace to Jerusalem every single day, Peace among Jews, Christians and Muslims with JESUS in the heart of all!

May all the believing Priests, Bishops and Pastors stand up for JESUS and condem the heresy of “Pastor” Hagee.
His catch 22 explanation is truly funny –
    Revelation 22 – a dream come true
22 Letters in the Hebrew Alphabeth
22 Fasts, Feasts and Festivals on the Jewish Calendar
Isaiah 22:22 is the key to set us all free
but Matthew 16:16 says plainly “You are the MESSIAH, the Son of the Living God” and JESUS answers : “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but MY HEAVENLY FATHER. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build MY CHURCH and the gates of the netherworld will not prevail against it.”

  27. Pitts Evans / Nov 23 2007 13 25

His entire argument in this piece is based on the following incorrect definition of “Messiah.” Hagee says:
Fact: According to Webster’s Dictionary the word “Messiah” means “the expected king who delivers from oppressors.” A Messiah is one who rules and reigns over a given people.

Pastor Hagee should know this is not the Biblical definition of the word Messiah. See below:

MESSIAH (me-si’-a) (mashiach; Aramaic meshicha’; Septuagint Christos, “anointed”; New Testament “Christ”):
    from International Standard Bible Encyclopaedia

MESSIAH- (Heb. mashiah), in all the thirty-nine instances of its occurring in the Old Testament, is rendered by the LXX. “Christos.” It means anointed.
    from Easton’s Bible Dictionary

MESSIAH (“anointed”) (Hebrew) = CHRIST (Greek)
    from Fausset’s Bible Dictionary

MESSIAH [meh SIGH uh] (anointed one)
    from Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dictionary

MESSI’AH (Heb. mashiah, “anointed”; rendered in the LXX by the Gk. equivalent Christos).
from The New Unger’s Bible Dictionary

NT:5547 christos, christee, christon (chrioo), Sept. for maashiyach, anointed:
    from Thayer’s Greek Lexicon

NT:5547 christos, “anointed,” translates, in the Sept., the word “Messiah,”
from Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words

  28. Elias Rovira / Nov 23 2007 19 11

Hagee is just another NWO tool (schill) that is attempting to guide the world into a new gospel that will lead uniformed Christians away from the truth of GOD. All this guy ever preaches about is how wonderful the Republican party is and how awful the Democrats are, Isreal, Isreal, Isreal and politics from the pulpit. He is a schill and I am glad that he has shown his true colors and his dark purpose of misguiding the church. He is no better than Pat Robertson that says just like Hagee that the US should bomb Iran. They are a bunch of war mongering hypocrites. IF, IF, IF you are so sure of God and Jesus and salvation and the truth that hell exists and is for everyone that does not believe and accept Jesus as thier personal LORD and Savior, then where is the love of Jesus for the souls that would be lost? Where is the compassion of Jesus? Did Jesus not say to turn the other cheek? Yet Hagee says before they (Iran) attack, let us (USA) drop bombs on them. Yeah whatever Hagee. You are a liar and part of the Antichrist system of the last days. REPENT!

  29. EVANGELIST BILLY BOLITHO / Nov 25 2007 11 10

    GOSPEL LETTER

    Flee From Idolatry

“Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry,” {1 Corinthians 10 v 14}.

Dear Christian, there is no room for any other form of faith or way of worshipping God other than through Jesus Christ, for Jesus said, “ I am the way the truth and the life.”

The Bible says if people try to worship God in any other way than through Jesus, then they are worshipping devils, and not God. You cannot sit down with other so-called faiths, if you do, then you are partaking of the table of devils, and you will be fellowshipping with devils as the Bible says.

Today many people are going to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem as it is called, thinking that in some way it is holy. There was a lady on the radio not long ago, who said that she touched the Wailing Wall, and she felt a blessing from God coming out from the stones. How foolish, for God has shown us through Jesus Christ that when Jesus was crucified; the curtain in the temple was torn in two, from the top to the bottom.

Yes, signifying that God has torn up the old way of worshipping Him, Jesus cried, “It is finished.”
Let us always seek to worship Christ in our hearts, for we are the temple of the Holy Ghost, and the communion is our remembrance of the one and only sacrifice to atone for mankind. I quote, “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?”
“The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?” {1 Corinthians 10 v 16}.

The Israel of today which seeks to worship through sacrifice and partakes of the altar are not honouring God or worshipping Him, for God can only be worshipped through Jesus Christ, only His blood can atone for us, any other blood sacrifice is an abomination in the eyes of our God, and any temple worship in any form is an abomination.

I was in a church service when the pastor said that the very bricks in this building were holy, I thought at the time, what an abomination in the ears of our God. We are not to worship any building or think that any place on this earth is holy, for if we do it will be idolatry, God certainly does not want us worshipping stones. Do you remember when the disciples said to Jesus, look at all these wonderful stones, Jesus replied, “Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another that shall not be thrown down,” {Mark 13 v 2}.

Jesus was not interested in buildings, although He had respect for the house of God, He was only interested in the souls of men, whom He came to save, praise God, may we also be like Jesus. Do you remember when Jesus came to Jacob’s well and He saw a woman of Samaria?
And said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father… but the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth,” {John 4 v 21, 23& 24}.

Dear Saints, the hour that Jesus spoke of is here, so, let us worship the Father in spirit and in truth. I would like to state at the end of this study of the word, that you do not misunderstand what I am saying to you. There is nothing wrong with going to Israel and looking at places where Jesus walked out of interest, this is not idolatry, I hope you understand what I am saying, I am sure that the Lord will bless you with this word.

The only thing that this shows us real christians is the seriousness of the need for us to do our job and impart “TRUTH” to those we come in contact with.

Don’t bash Mr. Hagee, but pray for him. He appears to be only one of the many that will “depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing demoniac spirits.”

There is nothing new under the sun and we were all instructed to place our confidence in man. Why? So that our faith in Jesus Christ would not be shaken when things like this occur.

Sad to say, there will be others who will fall away from the faith … ” for if it were possible, even the very elect is subject to deception.”

Therefore, thank God that you all still have soundness of mine and thought to stand against this attack … but God, desiring that none should perhish (even Mr. Hagee) requires us to pray for those who are lost (even Mr. Hagee)

Another sticking point here is that there is not a 5th cup in the Passover–only 4. The Passover is not explained in Scripture, only assumed that the reader would know what the traditions are: the Bible was written by Jewish men (as inspired by the Holy Spirit) documenting a Jewish Messiah’s life, purpose and claims to the Jewish people. Any Jewish person knows what takes place in a Passover and therefore no explanation was necessary. The 4th cup is the Cup of Elijah–the one who would make the announcement that the Messiah has come. Today, Jewish families around the world are still looking for the announcement of the coming of Messiah. Jesus did not take of the 4th cup because He was the Messiah and had come! John the Baptist made the announcement when he said, “Behold the Lamb of God…”

Where are the elders of the 36th most influential and 18,000 member Cornerstone Church who might lovingly correct Pastor Hagee’s misdefinitions, extrabibilical arguments, and turn him?

  34. R Thomas / Nov 27 2007 22 28

I have read many comments/reviews regarding John Hagee’s new book “In Defense of Israel”, but I must admit I have not read the book myself. I would first ask that all Holy Spirit filled believers pray in the spirit that we deny the evil one the opportunity to use Pastor Hagee’s book, his defense of it, or our comments in any way to hinder the preaching of the gospel, nor cause any to fall from grace. As brothers and sisters in Christ we have an obligation to test and try the spirits before we accept the teaching. The apostle John was very clear that the spirit of antichrist and the mystery of iniquity was already beginning to manifest itself even in such a short time after our Lord’s triumph on Calvary. I have tried to discern spiritually and intellectually the difference between Pastor Hagee’s definition of Christ and Messiah. I have always taught and been taught that the difference between the two is largely that one has been rendered in Greek and the other in Hebrew. I have come to appreciate that the inference of how one uses the terms can mean a lot. I also believe that a non-Jewish Christian and a Jewish Christian may provide considerable opportunity and amusement to the evil one as he, the evil one, twists the meaning and words for maximum effect as the “fiery darts” are launched. So I can somewhat accept Pastor Hagee’s approach to define the difference using the Word of God concerning his perceived differences between the meaning and the roles of Christ and Messiah. After all it is probably fair to say that we should admit that we should say Jesus the Christ rather than Jesus Christ. One infers that Jesus is the Christ and to most western Christians the other looks like Jesus had the last name of Christ. Please do not crucify me for attempting to apply this inept analogy to the problem at hand.

Pastor Hagee states, “Again, you must live to be Messiah. You cannot be both Messiah and Savior”. Pastor Hagee please accept the following request for clarification in the spirit of love as it is given. Our Lord died on the cross as our savior, the Lamb of God. He did however rise from the dead to assume his rightful position as our King. Our spirits cry out “He has risen, He has risen” because he lives so that we would know that he is the Christ, the Messiah, not so we could believe that he is. He that denies that Jesus is the Christ is antichrist.

I share the same fervent feelings about Israel that you do. But he that denies that Jesus is the Christ cannot enter into the pardon and therefore cannot be saved His death burial and resurrection as the Son of God, the Christ, and the Messiah is the gospel.

I think perhaps if you were to publically state that you believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God and that he was crucified on the cross for our sins, and was raised from the dead to sit at the right hand of God as our King, that the cries of blasphemy might subside into a more calm examination of what your were trying to say versus what many heard.

Once again I pray that you will accept that I have written this in a spirit of love, one brother to another, hoping that all of us will worship our Lord in spirit and truth, always striving to eliminate false doctrine and divisions. We have such a short time left we must fight the enemy not each other. In Jesus Christ’s name, by his authority and under his blood. Amen

    PQ,

Thanks for your voice of reason. I am shocked at the number of “well meaning” folks who are so quick to judge a well respected Kingdom minded leader and write him off as a heretic because of one thing he says.

Whatever happened to respect and honor…?

Let us not forget the fact that Dr. Hagee stands as a voice of truth against an anti-semitic heresy called replacement theology that has stained church history and left many with blood on their hands as a result. I would like to praise Dr. Hagee for the many good things he has accomplished, not write him off as a heretic because of one thing he says…

  36. Amy Downey / Nov 29 2007 20 49

“not write him off as a heretic because of one thing he says.”

I just have one response … are you kidding me?

Denying the essential components of Christology, Incarnation, Soteriology, Trinitarian, etc., etc. are enough to not only call someone a heretic but also to subject him to repercussions for his heresy.

As someone who has spent the last 10 years of her life devoted to the cause of Jewish evangelism, John Hagee has done more to harm the work of Jewish missions than just about anyone in church history … with the possible exception of a cranky 16th century monk and a deranged Austrian corporal.

  37. Teresa / Dec 4 2007 7 18

John Hagee was instrumental in sharing the gospel in all its simplicity 11 years ago In January. Having grown up in a Lutheran religon with a capitol R, I never did hear that the simple truth. I was a sinner who was separated from my Creator, and I personally (NOT CORPORATLY) needed to repent and ask forgiveness and follow Jesus. The truth that was shared with me, and was simply put, brought me to my knees and into new life with the Messiah.
For sharing the truth with me, when no one else would and did, I will forever be greatful to him. But as much love and respect I have for the man, I know the bible well, as I fell in love with it and with Jesus. I have spent the better half
( 1/3 to be exact) for my life reading and studying and listening to teachings of the word. I must say that I am truly distrubed that Jon has taken this stance and position and I am saddened that he can not see the plain truth of the fullness of scripture. No wonder Jesus told us 3 + times to not be deceived; he knew it would be coming from every single diverse direction.
All I can say is that man, whether he be Jew or Gentile, either now or in the days to come can ONLY get to the Father through the son, through the blood, on that narrow road and that is that!
Mr Hagee, may you be accepting of correction and solid teachers and humble to repent and redeem the time that is shorter by the second. Mr Hagee, thank you for telling me the truth when no one else bothered to, but you must tell the Jew that Jesus is and was and will be his Messiah and that reality isn’t going to change unless man walks away from the truth. Come back around, Mr Hagee, you’ve been an incredible guide up till recently. Don’t lose your crown now, please…

    Mike,

It was a blessing to find your program on Hagee. I am going to post a link to them on my blog at http://alwaysreformingtoscripture.blogspot.com/

I have written an eight page response to Hagee’s book, In Defense of Israel. I deal with his view that says, “The Jews were not rejecting Jesus as Messiah; it was Jesus who was refusing to be the Messiah to the Jews” (p. 140)

You can read the review at http://alwaysreformingtoscripture.blogspot.com/
    under Saturday, November 24, 2007.

    Blessings,

    In Christ

    Kendall,

I have written a couple of comments on this issue, one posted in this BLOG. I was unsure at the time, because I had not read the book personally and having observed the drastic effects that quoting “out of context” can have, I chose to respond, but he lives, but he lives.

I also purchased the book yesterday and began to read it. As you said, the first 130 pages are in no way controversial. Between pages 130-136 my anger began to raise so quickly I laid the book down and prayed for forgiveness.

My only current concern at the moment is for all that might read from page 130 on. I am concerned for the thousands of members of his congregation and the millions that might read the book with out studying it. It is an easy read!

I truly pray that Pastor Hagee has not intentionally chosen order and line of his argument to deliberately deceive. My heart argues that he is deceived, and unfortunately in position to deceive many others.

My mind tells me that choosing

Mark 16:15 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”

    Versus the use of

Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

was done deliberately to focus on the word creature used in Mark 16:15.

Unfortunately the greek rendering of this word, pāsēi tēi ktisei, would better be translated to mean the whole creation. (Robertson’s word pictures)

I will finish reading Pastor Hagee’s book out of duty to those that I teach and the 16,000 members of his congregation.

I would ask that all that read our comments pray that Pastor Hagee’s eyes be opened to his own deception and to those that he might deceive.

In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.

Rev. Hagee in his attempt to clarify between Jesus’ first and second comings has unnecessarily tried to distinguish between Jesus’ titles, Savior and Messiah (Christ). He does this in order to preserve the Old Testament propehcies (i.e. Zecheriah 12-14, Joel 3) concerning a coming deliverer for the nation of Israel from the world’s hostile nations. However, His delineation of these two titles is unbiblical and unnecessary.

Luke 24:46-48 clearly states that it was part of the “Messiah’s” ministry to be the Lamb of God and suffer (the Cross) before He would enter into His glory (Resurrection, Ascension, Session, Second Coming): “Then He said to them, ‘Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things.’

This is precisely Isaiah’s flow of logic when he transitions from the King who would reign in righteousness (Is. 32) from Jerusalem (Branch of the Lord) who would restore the created order, gather Israel and destroy all opposition (Is. 11) to the Servant of the Lord who would come in meekness (Is. 42), look like His ministry was in vain (Is. 49), offer Himself obediently even in the face of rejection (Is. 50), leading to His atoning death (Is. 53). The Messiah’s ministry will save Israel from her surrounding enemies. Yet, who will save Israel from Israel? The Messiah as Servant is quite clearThe Messiah, the Immanuel and coming conquering Davidic ruler would have to suffer before entering into His glory. In the Messiah’s second coming He will deliver Israel and the nations as a conquering king who will remove all sin and sinners from His economy (Is. 27:1; 63:1-6).

What Hagee does is unbiblical. What He fails to realize is that it is unnecessary to make his point to preserve the second coming passages in the Old Testament and their relationship to Israel’s national salvation.

  43. Scott in California / Dec 31 2007 12 03

I have followed John Hagee “off and on” over the years. Mostly “off”. I’ve read only one of his books (Jerusalem Countdown–) However, I did attend the 2nd annual CUFI conference (Christians United for Israel Conference) in Washington D.C. in July 2007, more out of curiosity and a desire to show support for Israel. That was just about 5 months ago, before this latest book. ( I hadn’t even heard about this controversy until just recently.) I can say from my experience, that the many believers I met there were truly a blessing. The speeches from the panels were enlightening. I was able to meet Newt Gingrich–someone I admired from afar and some other excellent speakers. I also met several Jewish believers in Yeshua at the conference, who had come to faith in Christ, the Messiah, “indirectly” (their words) because of John Hagee’s unwavering support for Israel…and they mentioned his “Night to Honor Israel” events as influential as well. I also remember that a Rabbi spoke and said that when Messiah comes (or comes again) [his words], there would be peace. The place erupted into applause. There was not a hint of dual covenant in the atmosphere, just loving support for the nation of Israel. (Admittedly, my perception.) I guess my comment is that God can –and “is working” in spite of John Hagee’s over-zealousness to correct the centuries of replacement theology that had prevailed before the birth of the modern state of Israel. To start applying 1 John 2:22 to Pastor Hagee’s sloppy biblical exegesis is a “misapplication” of that verse, since Christ is not being denied. However, I do not deny the seriousness of the problem at hand and I do believe that this should be covered in prayer–by the body of Christ at large. Hopefully the reissue/reprint will clear up the confusion (See Pastor Hagee’s statement on the CUFI website).

Perhaps the most important thing no one is mentioning is CHRIST is not dead! How is Christ reigning far above all principality if he is not Messiah? Is Christ not seated at the right hand of the father? Were we not warned of this in Ijohn? The word christ is the greek version of messiah. Was he not crucified as “King of the jews”? Perhaps we wouldn’t be here debating this if Christ was reigning in the hearts of jewish nonbelievers.

I have worked with rabbis in America for a quarter of a century, I a am an ardent supported of the Jews right to the land as per the Abrahamic Covenant, I would consider my self a Christian Zionist. I believe that Mr. Hagee has been so influenced by his Jewish counterpart that he is willing to lower the bar of sound Christian theology for the sake of extending his life long friendship with the Jewish community. His reducing the Messiahship of Jesus Christ will have three devastating consequences: One and most important, he sets the Jews up to look for another Messiah which will be a false messiah. Two, this controversy will add yet another division within the body of Christ and third, this Zionism that reduces the Christian message of Jesus as Messiah will actually bring many Christian into the anti-semitic camp. How foolish not to have considered the larger picture just to further his own theological mindset. I pray his convictions have not been thoroughly compromised to please his current save Israel ministry

  46. Doug Krieger / Feb 11 2008 8 09

After reading brother Hagee’s book, In Defense of Israel, his alleged clarification, his protagonists, supporters and, finally, the voices of theological clarity who in love have charged brother Hagee to reconsider his position that Jesus did not come the first time as the Messiah to both “Jews and Greeks” – to Israel and to Gentiles, I, and The Tribulation Network who have written extensively on this topic, find brother Hagee’s theology reprehensible, unnecessary, confusing and ultimately disingenuous toward Jews and an inflammatory catalyst for Covenantalists, Amillenarians, Preterists and, in sum, Replacement theologies/eschatologies who themselves, assert the full mantel of the New Israel of God and the utter disinheritance of National Israel.

I had the distinct privilege of meeting brother Hagee in the 1980s. I found him to be genuine in his convictions towards Israel and his commitment to “Biblical Zionism” was commendable; however, by befriending His brethren, according to the flesh, in this way, by denying that Jesus did not acclaim His Messiahship at His first coming, is simply outside the bounds of Christian orthodoxy and should be rejected by all branches of Christendom–Catholic, Protestant and Orthodox.

We appeal in this public way for brother Hagee to reconsider his position, to refute it, and to acclaim that Jesus is the Messiah, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek! Prophetically, brother Hagee, has crossed the line and has unwittingly embraced a twisted heresy that has profound consequences to both Jew and Christian–and it is not inconsequential to discern that what he asserts is “another gospel” – if he persists in this tragic misinterpretation of Scripture–both Hebrew and Christian Scriptures.

“Seventy weeks are determined for your people and for your holy city (i.e., seventy weeks for the Jewish people–the people of Daniel and the city bespeaks of Jerusalem) . . . from the going forth of the command to restore and build Jerusalem until MESSIAH THE PRINCE, there shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks . . . and after sixty-two weeks MESSIAH SHALL BE CUT OFF, but not for himself” (Daniel 9:24-26 – portions).

The prophetic point observed here is the presentation to the Jewish people – to the holy city – that MESSIAH THE PRINCE – or UNTIL MESSIAH THE PRINCE – is in view. We affirm, as many theologians and believers in the Messiah Jesus attest, that this bespeaks of the TRIUMPHAL ENTRY OF JESUS AS MESSIAH, THE PRINCE into Jerusalem in 33 A.D. (Palm Sunday) and that four days after this PRESENTATION OF JESUS AS MESSIAH TO ISRAEL – He, as MESSIAH, was CUT OFF or crucified.

Yes, all this as MESSIAH to you and your people, the Jews. As one of the largest prophetic websites in the world, which proclaims the unsearchable riches of the Messiah, the Lord Jesus – to Gentiles and to Jews – let it be known, we are Christian Zionists without the denial of our Lord Jesus as Messiah Who lives today and will return to claim the throne of David, but Who now is seated in the Heavens!

Brother Hagee – embrace the words and spirit of the Apostle Paul – for without these Spirit-filled Apostles, nigh all Jews, the Gentiles would not have been made partakers of the commonwealth of Israel – even so, it is they who brought us to the One True God . . . this is Paul’s defense in the presence of King Agrippa and the Roman proconsul, Festus–the same Festus who acclaimed Paul mad (Acts 25) and the same King Agrippa who said: “You almost persuade me to become a Christian” – and not just King Agrippa–“I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains” (Acts. 26:29) . . .

“Therefore, having obtained help from God, to this day I stand, witnessing both to small and great, saying no other things than those which the prophets and Moses said would come–‘that the Messiah (Christ) would suffer, that He would be the first to rise from the dead, and would proclaim LIGHT TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE and TO THE GENTILES!” (Acts 26:22-23).

The presentation of Jesus as MESSIAH – as a LIGHT TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE and TO THE GENTILES is unequivocal, unalterable, unmitigated, unrestrained, and uncompromisable – to hold any other view which demeans, deprecates and dilutes the person of the Christ, the Messiah, as a professed Christian is indefensible – all the double speak on earth or heaven will not placate nor justify the blatant heresy which denies Jesus as the present Messiah to every single Jew upon this planet–to do so is the most outrageous and insidious form of Antisemitism – it ghettoizes the gospel of the grace of God and is a reproach to the full embodiment of both Testaments.

We cannot, nor will we allow the rank theological antagonists who assail the seed of Abraham who have regathered in biblical fulfillment to their ancient homeland as naught but an expression of dispensational excess, and worse, a hideous expression of racism, apartheid and Western expansionism. They who will attempt to use brother Hagee’s excesses as cover to denounce Israel and to make occasion to discredit millions of believers in Messiah Jesus, do so at their own spiritual peril – it was this same supercessionism which gave birth to Crusades, ghettos, inquisitions, pogroms, and ultimately, the Holocaust and now, the spectrum of Jihad designed to “wipe Israel off the map.”

Therefore, we charge the Body of Christ to rise up in defense of the pure Word of God and to stand for the Scripture of Truth – for only in so doing will Israel be prepared by the Almighty for her greatest hour and reception of her Deliverer!

The problem is us as Christians who can’t even read the bible which is in Greek and Hebrew: NOT ENGLISH…Because a total new understanding is waiting for you if you learn something and are not told something.(Matt 7:7) John Hagee is on the right track and it makes me sad how uneducated we as Christians in understanding Adoni Elohim ……if you don’t know Adoni Elohim…well all I can do is pray for you.

There are two prophesy of a messiah….
    One is the suffering messiah

The other is the king messiah

I bet a million dollar that 99.9% of Christian doesn’t know that…because you can’t read HEBREW

If you can read Greek and Hebrew you find the Jesus is the suffer messiah according to the Jewish religion concerning the OLD TESTMENT and by his stripes we are heal and shall be the King Messiah when he returns. The suffering messiah scripture is in total agreement with John Hagee teachings of Rabbi Jesus and in total agreement of Judaism and us as Christian. So, go and learn instead of someone telling you something. We forget that James who was Jesus brother was in a big disagreement with Paul. Paul was correct concerning the Laws of Noah, but James foresaw what happens when you only teach half the story. Because we have lost our jewish tradiations we our unable to total understand the meaning of Bible. A 13 yr old jewish boy can tell you more about god than most preachers who have been preacher for more than 30 yrs. If only the 13 yr old boy would accept Jesus as lord and savior and become a Christian….but wait a minute according to Jesus’s own words the little jewish must stay within the law (matt 5:17-5:18) and we as Christian don’t follow the Jewish Law of 613 mitsvah…

Joh 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Joh 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

Mat 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
Mat 16:14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
Mat 16:15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
Mat 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven

John 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

to say Jesus is not the Christ and say the Christ is not the messiah is proof of a blind man trying to decieve, only the blind follow the blind,,,

stand on the scripture its Truth
John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

people who keep sinning become blinded and God turns them over to a reprobate mind,,, if they are a teacher they become a wolve in sheeps clothing,, who leads the children of the devil ( tares ) who claim to be christians but live continually sinning…under the Law they never recieve grace enough to walk in the Light…recieve the power of God walk in holiness,,sinning is the issue,, and who stops.

Ephesians 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

It is sad when God’s people argue amongst themselves, when the family of God spend more time pointing a negative finger at one another instead of just allowing God to lead them and be a light through them to others.

I love the words of EVANGELIST BILLY BOLITHO on blog 24: Now God’s plan for the people of Israel is the same plan which He is using for the whole world, and that is that we must all repent and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.

    We must pray for them, that they will see Jesus, for it is written, “ There shall come out of Zion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: for this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins”, {Romans 11 v 26 & 27}
So dear saints, let us always pray and standby Israel, for I believe that there are many yet to come to know Jesus as their true Messiah. God bless Israel.

IF CHRISTIANS READ THEIR BIBLES THY WOULD NOT BE DECEIVED.

On blog 36, R Thomas writes what we as brothers & sisters in the family of the Lord Jesus Christ should be.

And Teresa from blog 40: All I can say is that man, whether he be Jew or Gentile, either now or in the days to come can ONLY get to the Father through the son, through the blood, on that narrow road and that is that!

Scott from California on blog 48: this should be covered in prayer–by the body of Christ at large.

Let us pray for and encourage one another as the Apostle Paul states in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)
11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

    And in Hebrews 3:13-14 (NIV)
13But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first.

Think of the words of Jesus: Luke 6:36-38 (NIV)
    36. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
    37. “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

I will pray for John Hagee, that God will guide him and lead him how he sees fit, and that Christ will shine through him!

Jesus is our only way to the Father (John 14:6).

    Greetings to you, Mr. Hagee!

Mr. Hagee, a DUAL COVENANT (which the Bible calls “a different gospel”) exists when you forbid your congregation to evangelize a people whom you claim are saved in a different manner than everyone else is. Paul, a Jew by birth, writing with God’s inspiration, told the Roman Gentile Christians that there is only one gospel which is God’s power to save both Jews and Gentiles, not two. ROMANS 1:16. Either you are declaring that Jews are not worth receiving that very gospel which one must hear in order to be saved, or you are declaring that they are saved in a different manner than Gentiles are (which would be a DUAL COVENANT, a different gospel). According to GAL. 1:6-9, even if every doctrine you preach is “perfect” with one exception – that doctrine being a different gospel – you are wrong enough to lose your soul for all eternity.

Unless you turn from preaching your false gospel to Jews and begin giving them the same true gospel which you give to Gentiles, GAL. 1:6-9 declares only one judgment in the strongest Greek term possible: “anathema!” Memorize ROMANS 1:16, and also ACTS 4:8-12 where we see Peter, another Jew by birth, being empowered by the Holy Spirit, not only to preach the same gospel to Jews which he would later preach to Gentiles, but also telling the Jews that Jesus is the Messiah!

If it is really a waste of time for Christians to evangelize Jews, then why were 5,000 (ACTS 4:4) brought to the knowledge that Jesus is the Messiah after Peter preached it so in ACTS 3:18? Christians should never abuse JOHN 12:40 as an excuse to refuse to evangelize a Jew! The “blindness” which JOHN 12:40 refers to was obviously not so permanent that God could not later save 3,000 Jews and then 5,000 Jews, all of them hearing Peter tell them that Jesus is the Messiah! For the sake of your soul, for the sake of the Jews whom you say you love, and for the sake of your audience who takes what you say at face value, I plead with you: Renounce your dual gospel, encourage your congregation to evangelize Jews just as they would evangelize anyone else they love and want to see in heaven, and renounce this antichrist view that Jesus is not the Messiah of the Jews. Peter preached quite the opposite to his Jewish listeners, and thousands were converted!

Let not the love of money nor the love of Israel’s endorsement of your ministry cause you not to repent from refusing to tell them that they can only be saved in the same manner as everyone else is. If you ignore this warning, GAL. 1:6-9 will be brought to your remembrance on the day of judgment. If you repent, GLORY TO GOD!

It will be hard for you to face everyone who has been deceived by these teachings, but God will reveal to you greater truths which you will suddenly have the boldness to share, and MANY whose ears are on your voice will be converted! I will give you a hint: It has to do with the lying hope, known as the pre-tribulational rapture, and why so many Christians (1/3, according to REV. 12) will take the mark of the beast. There will be a corporate “son of perdition” (2TH. 2:3, JOHN 17:12, a corporate “Judas Iscariot” who betrays the body of Christ) which will be revealed as the leadership (the corporate “false prophet,” as Jesus explained, “many false prophets”) sitting in the midst of the body of Christ (the true temple of God in 2TH. 2:4) who will take the mark of the beast, and lead others to do the same. If you go into that time period thinking you will never see the mark of the beast (the abomination which leaves God’s people who take it desolate, even as the Old Covenant temple was left desolate and therefore can never undergo a future desolation – MAT. 23:38), you will have reason to take it and lead multitudes and multitudes and multitudes of others whom you have great influence over to take it as well. In DAN. 3, the word “heralds” means “preachers” and refers to preachers commanding all nations, tongues, and peoples to worship the image of the beast. Those who have not been feeding off of Babylon’s “dainties” (DAN. 1) will be preserved in the midst of the fire and will survive the entire time of tribulation which is coming, especially to America, which is now the king of worldwide Babylon (the conqueror of the Middle East who forces all nations to drink of the cup of her wrath – you will see this throughout JEREMIAH, REVELATION, and just about every Old Testament prophetic book; you should also begin to see that everything which happened in the Gospels and ACTS is a prophecy of the 7 years to come when a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit occurs worldwide; Christians who enter that time prepared will be given the anointing of the manchild, in REV. 12, and will raise up a large body of saints who cover the globe, going out two-by-two, with the anointing of Moses and Elijah – REV. 11).

If you wake up in time to recognize that you were wrong, what you will be given opportunity to tell others might save some of them. I heard it prophesied that this would happen for Jimmy Swaggart. I believe it could happen for you too. I will pray. Let us all pray and read our Bibles, and proclaim that Jesus is the Messiah more loudly than we ever have in 2000 years, both to Jews and to Gentiles. If you remain silent now, you will be swallowed up by great tribulation. On the other hand, if you start now, God will set you apart as one of His “DANIEL”s who will be preserved supernaturally in the coming wilderness, when most American Christians will “go back to Egypt” (receive the mark of the beast) to save their lives. The things which have been are the things which shall be. There is no new thing under the sun – no pre-trib rapture; only God’s power to preserve your life in the lion’s den and to see to it that you are exalted when the beast’s men see that you still live! This is what is coming. Get ready now. Read your Bible like you never have before. God knows who His “DANIEL”s and “ESTHER”s are, but He also knows who His “SAUL”s and “KORAH”s are, and at just the right time, He will send the great delusion (the mark of the beast) to make the distinction and to spew the lukewarm out (just as the Philistines took out Saul, preparing the way for David who had been in the wilderness awaiting his time), thus cleaning out God’s sanctuary (the New Covenant temple of God, which all Christians are, Jew or Gentile – EPH. 2:19-22, 2TH. 2:4).

I have written to ALL who are reading this, not just to Mr. Hagee, so that all may be prepared to wait for the sound of the seventh and last trumpet (REV. 11:15-18, 1COR. 15:51-55, MAT. 24:19-31) when, all of a sudden, there will be loud voices in heaven (voices of the resurrected/raptured saints at the time of “the first resurrection” – REV. 20:4-6) who cry out, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His CHRIST (MESSIAH then and MESSIAH now, for Jews and Gentiles who call upon His name, as we learned earlier from the lips of Peter), and He wll reign forever and ever!”

One final question for you, Mr. Hagee: Since you quote Webster’s definition of “messiah,” and you admit it is referring to a DELIVERER, what do you think the word SAVE means? SAVE and DELIVER are one and the same word, and therefore, so is MESSIAH! Jesus came to be the Savior (Messiah) of the world! In love, I trust God to reach you with this message. This was written in the same love with which Paul wrote to the Galatians. Let’s not be Pharisees and close our ears just because we hear something we have never heard before. The traditions of men have been making of no effect the word of God, and God is about to correct what damage has been done. Nojne of this takes God by surprise. It’s all in His plan. On one side, there must be a corporate body of antichrist, steered by a corporate harlot, steered by a corporate false prophet. On the other side, there must be a corporate body of Christ (the “woman” of REV. 12), steered by a corporate two witnesses (REV. 11), steered by a corporate manchild (REV. 12). There will be no more fence-sitters who say, “Can’t we all just ignore lies and agree to disagree?” That will not work. Study your Bible, my beloved brothers and sisters! Many will take the mark of the beast because they believed they could never be lost (“once saved, always saved”) and because they believed they would not be around to see it (“pre-trib rapture”), as well as for some other BIG reasons, like watching for a newly-built temple in Jerusalem, when the actual abomination of desolation can only take place in the only temple recognoized as the teple of God ever since the first was left desolate! There will not be an individual human being called the antichrist, but a worldwide corporate antichrist having seven heads and ten horns. God will reveal more to you if you will lay aside the traditions of men. Jesus delights in hiding His mysteries in parables from the wise and intelligent so that He can reveal them to little babies.

In the love of the truth,
    Chris

This is for your eyes only Kevin– since you keep my post from the public. John Hagee is being a friend to the Jews, He is operating the way his body is meant to be.What are you doing? Your Pharasee mentality stirs strife. Hagee has done a lot of good and you could to if you would stop using your efforts for villifing this man. Consider what part of the body are you and do it well instead of slaming the members such a waste of God given tallent.

From my Jew point of view and as a believer in Yeshua (Jesus) as Messiah, I think the Hagge’s problems is not theology but semantic. Specifically Jewish semantic and vocabulary. Yeshua (Jesus ) is the Messiah and he came as Messiah because He is the Messiah before the creation of the world. When he came to us the first time, he did it as Suffering Messiah, according the Jewish concept written in the Talmud and the Zohar. To be a suffering messiah is the first step and contingency for the revelation of the Living Messiah. When Hagge’s words make a difference between Messiah and Savior, he give us the impression he believe the Savior is not Messiah, when the contrary is the true, the Savior is the Suffering Messiah, but the Messiah for sure. My recommendation to pastor Hagge and all other Christian’s pastors, teachers and student is to study Judaism as much as you can, before discuss issues involving Jewish theology, laws and vocabulary. One bibliografy I want to recommend to everybody is: The Messiah Texts by Raphael Patai.
